Two for Carol from Night Owl Quilting

Carol brought two lovely quilts for some quilting.  First up is this lovely evergreen quilt.

Carol chose the Soho pantograph and provided green Fireside backing which shows off the quilting so well.

The second quilt is this classic Attic Window.   The bird print that Carol chose for the windows is just lovely and this setting really showcases it.

The Breath of the Gods pantograph was Carol's choice and I think it adds a nice light touch to the quilt.

Butter Tarts - New From Highway 10 Designs from Night Owl Quilting

Kathy and I are excited to announce the new Butter Tarts pattern from our shared venture Highway 10 Designs.  It has been more than 2 years since we last had an idea we were excited enough to work up into a pattern.  We are so excited that we are having a sale - more on that later.

The Butter Tarts pattern is Fat Quarter friendly and includes 6 sizes ranging from Baby to Queen.  One of the best parts of the pattern is that there are no HSTs or Flying Geese to make, so no trimming!

My Canadian friends will understand ...

Sophisticated Space from Night Owl Quilting

Julie made this quilt for her granddaughter who is currently working on her PhD in Chemistry.  Her granddaughter’s request was "space" and Julie wanted to create a sophisticated quilt around that theme.  I think she succeeded!

Julie began with the Let's Play Ball pattern by Lee Grover, but added some elements to make it her own.  She changed the borders and added paper pieced Ohio Star blocks from Carol Doak’s star collection in the corners.

To continue with the sophisticated theme we added a simple pantograph called Breath of the gods.

Flower Pot from Night Owl Quilting

This beautiful quilt was made by three friends as a gift for one of their daughters.  The pattern is called Flower Pot by Kim McLean for Glorious Color.

There is an immense amount of hand appliqué all done in an amazing collection of Kaffe Fassett fabrics.

When Leslie booked the quilt in she told me they were interested in custom quilting.  After some discussion and looking for other examples, and discussing their likes and dislikes, we came to the conclusion that an allover design might be a better fit for this quilt.  I had done a quilt with hand applique ...

A Couple of Art East Quilts from Night Owl Quilting

Art East Quilting Company has some of the most fun patterns on the market today.  Recently two of them came through my studio.  First up is this darling quilt made by Shelly. This pattern is called "Cattle Call."

I just loved the colours Shelly used.   Shelly decided on the Bora Bora pantogrpah and a medium green thread.

Next up is Cindy's "Trending" quilt that was a Block of Month project from Art East over the last year.  Cindy selected her own farbics in a very similar color palette to what was offered in the original kit.

Cindy selected the ...

Our Hearts Will Go On from Night Owl Quilting

Kristine made this stunning version of the Our Hearts Will Go On quilt.  I have quilted a few of these and I am still impressed with this creative take on a classic Storm at Sea block.

Kristine selected the Breath of the gods pantograph, as she didn't want anything too tight for the quilting.

Kristine selected one of my Northcott Stonehenge wide backs that paired well with the Northcott Shimmer fabric that comprised the front.

Yet another quilt that could have easily stayed and lived with me!

Three for Margaret from Night Owl Quilting

Margaret sent this very unique Lake Views quilt.  The pattern is by Doug Leko of Antler Quilt Designs and features Holly Taylor's  Lake View fabric.  Margaret recently moved to the lake full time, so this quilt couldn't be more perfect.

Margaret selected the Ripples pantograph, and it finishes it off perfectly.

Next up is a lovely Log Cabin quilt.  How can you go wrong with a classic like this?

The breath of the gods pantograph was the choice to finish this one.

And last but not least is something completely different - a modern quilt pattern that Margaret found ...

Four Lovely Quilts from Night Owl Quilting

In the spirit of catching up on sharing more of the lovely quilts that have been hiding on my camera roll I have four more for you today!  First up are two from Mitzie.  The first one, Mitzie referred to as her "Arizona quilt.'  After I sent some pantograph options, Mitzie decided that the Breath of the gods pantograph was just the look to complete her vision.

The next quilt was a result of a charm pack and some stash fabric and some creativity.  It was going to her granddaughter so the Fanciful Fliers pantograph was just the right fit ...

Winter Solstice from Night Owl Quilting

This lovely quilt was made by Reneta.  The pattern is called Winter Solstice by Patti Carey.  Reneta had the staff at Road 17N in Winkler put together a kit for her that very closely resembles the cover of the pattern.

Reneta chose the Breath of the gods pantograph that feels like a gentle wind moving through the trees.

I'm sure the lucky graduate will be thrilled to be receiving this one!
